Dress Code



Proper dance attire and dance shoes must be worn in Dance Class at all times.

Our dance dress code was created to minimize distractions, allow dancers to focus on instruction and ensure dancer safety. Names MUST be written in all items.

Our dress code will be strictly enforced.



Dance classes we offer



MBDA delivers our services locally throughout the offering children the opportunity to learn a variety of different dance styles. We also have a studio location above Nasser Gymnastics on Old Shell Road. Both dance students in our schools and dance students at our dance studio are equally important to us. EVERY SINGLE STUDENT is considered part of our dance studio family. Classes are held September through May ending with an Annual Recital in May or June.



ballet & Tap





Preschool Ages 2 & Up: Students will need a leotard of choice with a tutu or ballet skirt, pink tights or white ruffle socks, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. This hour class is 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of tap. This is a class that introduces young students to dance in a structured class setting while initiating ballet and tap terminology. At this age, they are still learning how their bodies move, awareness of their body and how to control their body. Technique is introduced in this class, but not the main objective. Students will be taught to be attentive, follow directions, and learn about movement concepts and classroom etiquette.



Ballet, Tap & Jazz Combo Classes





This class is for students 4.5 to 7.Students will need a leotard of choice with a tutu or ballet skirt, pink tights or white ruffle socks, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes and black jazz shoes. This hour class is 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of tap/jazz alternating between tap and jazz each week. In ballet class, students learn the fundamentals of dance, therefore students have ballet every week. These classes assist in their technique and promote muscle development. In this class, students are still learning to be attentive, follow directions, and learn about movement concepts and classroom etiquette.



DAnce Mixup





This class is a combo for students 8 & Up. Students will need a leotard of choice, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, tap, (black tap shoes) or character, (tan character shoes) black jazz shoes & foot undies or tan lyrical shoes. This class is 45 minutes of ballet and lyrical, and 30 minutes of tap or character/jazz/hip hop alternating between tap or character and jazz/hip hop each week. In ballet/lyrical class, students learn the fundamentals of dance, therefore students have ballet/lyrical every week. There are 2 different Dance Mix-Up Classes, please check the schedule for proper shoe requirements. These classes assist in their technique and promote muscle development.



dance elite





Ages 12 & Up. Students must be evaluated and placed in this class. Students will need a leotard of choice, pink or black tights, pink ballet shoes, black jazz shoes, tan character shoes, black tap shoes & foot undies. This class is 1 hour of ballet/pointe and lyrical, and 1 hour of tap/character/jazz alternating between character/tap and jazz-hip hop each week. This class includes barre work, center floor exercises, and across-the-floor combos. All of these exercises focus on strengthening the whole dancer.



ballet & pointe





Students will need a leotard of choice, pink tights, ballet skirt, pink ballet shoes and pink pointe shoes. Pointe shoes are only permitted under the teacher's discretion. This class is designed to focus on the basics of ballet. A typical class consists of barre, center floor technique, stretches and across the floor routines.



jazz & hiphop





Students will need a leotard of choice, black jazz shoes, and or black hiphop shoes. Both of these classes combine contemporary jazz and hip hop styles of dance. Class consists of a warm up, movement across the floor, and choreographed routines. It’s a great blend of technicality and fun.



lyrical





Students will need a leotard of choice, ballet skirt or bootie shorts and foot undies or tan lyrical shoes. Lyrical is a combination of both of ballet and jazz techniques. Dancers will learn to use motion and emotion to interpret their performance through music and movement. It is very important for students to learn the fundamentals of ballet and jazz before entering this class.



tap





Students will need a leotard of choice & black tap shoes. Tap into this percussive style and study moves like wings, pullbacks, syncopation, and other turning, challenging combinations. Teachers emphasize speed and clarity and mix the technique with current dance moves and trends.
